Southwest Junior Golf Tour
Event #11 Pine Hills GC
Monday July 17th, 2017
Par 72 Yardage 6782
A perfect day for golf! Sunshine, slight breeze, high 70’s temperature, and a wonderful landscape to enjoy it on known as Pine Hills GC. The largest field of the 2017 Southwest Junior Golf Tour did not fail to provide stellar golf and great drama. Birdies were flying and Northeast Ohio’s own “Blue Monster”, #18 at Pine Hills, did its best to send some good rounds to a watery grave. A few were able to tame the beast and top today’s leaderboard though. Outstanding fun for the last regular event of the 2017 season and a great prelude to next Monday’s Founders Cup Championship at Medina CC!!
Boys 15-18 Ben Gleichauf, N. Olmsted 74, fresh off his Match Play Championship win claimed medalist honors and catapulted himself into 7th place in the Player of the Year race. Jacob Henyey, Brecksville 76 survived a scorecard playoff to secure 2nd place and Logan Bratsch, Olmsted Twp. 76 had to settle for third. Logan’s finish did put him within 50 POY points of leader Connor Thomas, Medina. Lukas Vollman, Hinckley 78 placed fourth. The “New Par” at Pine Hills GC was shared by the fifth place finishers Liam Chambers, Westlake 81, Blake
Shienkaruk, Medina 81, John Galik, Brecksville 81, Bailey Hamilton, N. Royalton 81, and Cooper Hrabak, Medina 81. A very popular number. Great playing gentlemen! Good luck next week!
Girls 18-U Isabella Goyette, Medina 86 claimed her fourth victory of the season and reclaimed the top spot in the Player of the Year race. Alessandra Goyette, Medina 100 tried to apply some pressure on Isabella and took second place. Maddie Harper, Independence 101 played her steady game and captured third place. Olivia Ferris, Medina 124
and Kara Krsak, Independence 129 rounded out the top 5. Ladies, wonderful effort on a very difficult golf course!
Boys 14-U Colin Myslenski, Richfield 81, also fresh off his win in the Match Play Championship carried his good play right into another victory. Matt Girberti, Rocky River 83 for the second straight day finishes behind Colin but both times Colin had to give it his best to out last Matt. Andrew Martin, Westlake 85 used some clutch putting to find his way to third place. SWGT POY leader Jarrett Nowak, N. Royalton 88 took fourth place as
Cameron Addington, Avon Lake 89 came in fifth place. Some new blood in the second half of the season has made the race for Player of the Year a little more interesting than what it might have been. The Founders Cup Championship might just be the difference. Great work today gentlemen and good luck!
