The weather was perfect, the course was in good shape, and it is always a good time to watch adults sweat over 3 foot putts! The Member-Adult Championship, one of the highlights of the SWGT season, did not disappoint with wonderful play and smiles all around!! A great big thank you to all the dad’s, brother’s, friends, and others that came out today to support our and their SWGT member!
Boys 15-18 Connor & Greg Thomas, Medina 63 fired a 31 on the front side as they never looked back to capture medalist honors. The win increased Connor’s Player of the Year points lead (240) to 65 points over Jimmy Clark, N. Olmsted. Sam & Jamie Spacek, N. Royalton 66 carded a 30 on the back side as they tried their very best to catch the Thomas’ but came up just short in the runner-up position. John & John Galik, Bricksville 68 and Tony & Anthony Vannello, Medina 68 tied for the third spot. The Galik’s won the scorecard play off by a shot (22 to 23).
Outstanding fun gentlemen! Good luck the rest of the way out.
Madison & Tim Debnar, Medina 73 secured a victory after another scorecard playoff. This one had to go to a hole by hole sudden-death, which was eventually won on the 7th hole. Erin & Eric Frey, Medina 73 finished second while
Devon & Dale Matson, Brunswick 74 stayed steady all day but missed one too many putts to be in the mix for the title. Great play by all as this division went down to the wire. Ellen O’Leary, Rocky River and Isabella Goyette, Medina maintained their hold on the top spot for Player of the Year at 150 points each.
Andrew & Rich Martin, Westlake 67 played well together making several birdies as they cruised to the top spot. Jack & Roger vichill, Westlake 72 tried to keep pace but just could not get enough putts to fall on this day. The second place finish allowed Jack to maintain his hold on the Player of the Year top spot at 210 points. Clayton & Tyler Greiner, Brunswick 74 got a helpful hand from his brother, who filled in on short notice so that Clayton could compete and secure third place. Davin & Doug Amy, Westlake 75 and Kevin & Kevin Gordon, N. Royalton 76
rounded out the top 5 spots. Fun day, coupled with good golf made for a fantastic event. Great work gentlemen.
Alex & John Hedden, Hinckley 83 and Parker & Jason Phillips, Medina 87 went back and forth throughout the day but in the end the Hedden’s were able to capture medalist honors. So much fun was had by both teams it is hard to say that anyone actually lost. Wonderful day gentlemen!
Hannah & Eric Stasiowski, Medina 88 played steady all day to take the top spot. Stella & Ben Burns, Medina 97
Simona & Bogdan Kozul, Hinckley 97, ironically both shot 50 on the front side and then 47 on the back side with different number on many of the holes. Crazy fun, which basically wraps up the game of golf. Fantastic effort today ladies as all had to play 18 holes and at times carry your adult partners!!
