Dear players and parents,
Hello, we hope this letter finds you warm and healthy. The Southwest Junior Golf Tour is ready to “tee off” into the 2105 season. We have exciting news with respect to our partnership with The Hurricane Junior Tour and we also want to announce a change in our spectator policy.
As stated in the above paragraph, our partnership with the Hurricane Junior Tour has expanded to a new level. We have developed a dual membership program in response to the exploding world of competitive junior golf. Simply, you can join both tours for the fee of $139. This allows you the ability to compete on the Southwest Junior Golf Tour and the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. This can be accomplished by visiting the SWGT’s registration page, then following the guidelines for registration. You may want to join early due to the April dates that the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour plays here in Ohio. They have three April dates, the Ohio Kickoff event at Delaware G.C. on April 4-5, the Cleveland Jr. Open at Signature of Solon on April 18-19, and the Toledo Jr. Shootout at Stone Ridge G.C. on April 25-26. These are but a few of the HJGT events you can register for should you become a dual member. It is important to point out that the registration fee of $139 allows you the opportunity to participate on both tours. Remember, you would still need to select and remit the fees for the particular events you choose on either tour according to the registration process of each respective tour.
The Southwest Junior Golf Tour registration opens March 1, 2015. Please view our schedule at www.swgtcleveland.com and plan your summer golf now. We also have a link on our website’s home page to the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour to view their complete 2015 schedule and event registration procedures.
Remember you have two options, one is to join our tour only for $75 or join both tours utilizing the dual membership for $139. The second option is a great savings, especially if you want to showcase your talents to college coaches. Simply, navigate to our website, then to our registration page, click on the link (it becomes live March 1), download the forms and send in along with your fees. The SWGT’s first event is May 23rd at Washington Park. Should you select the dual option, we will forward your information to the Hurricane junior Golf Tour.
The second major announcement has to do with our spectator policy. The Southwest Junior Golf Tour will allow spectators at all events for this summers’ series of tournaments. We feel this will allow your parents, family members, and friends the chance to watch you compete. Carts will not be allowed.
Dave Moskal has joined the PGA golf staff of Westwood Country Club in Rocky River as their Outside Operations Manager and will oversee the caddy program among his many responsibilities. If anyone is interested in a summer job as a caddy there, please email Dave.
Please continue to monitor our website for news. Remember that we also send out information via Twitter and on our Facebook page, so like us to be up front with the news as it breaks. If you have friend who plays great golf tell him about our tour.
Lastly, the Joe Haase Cup team will compete on Mothers Day at Firestone Country Club. Practice hard, play competitively this summer to attempt to earn a spot on the 2016 team.
