The Southwest Junior Golf Tour is excited to announce a formal partnership with the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour for the 2014 season. The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour out of Jacksonville, Florida, has grown into six new states and with this growth, the SWGT players are seeing the benefits. This partnership will benefit both parties tremendously, as well as offering junior golfers throughout Ohio a great opportunity to play exclusive events on one of the countries premier tours.
The first event that will be held under this new partnership deal will be the Cleveland Jr. Open on April 19-20, 2014 at Little Mountain Country Club in Concord, Ohio. The second event is the College Prep Series on May 24-26, 2014 in Kent, Ohio.
Through this partnership, three SWGT members will be invited to play in each of those events. Derek and I will select the three players based on all your junior golf accomplishments. More news to come as we move forward toward these dates.
Players entered in the Hurricane Junior Tour events also have the opportunity to represent their state at the Hurricane Cup held at Sea Island, Geogia in November. The HJGT has produced over 2500 collegiate golfers who have signed letters of intent at over 200 universities and plays a vital role in promoting junior golf throughout the country. Playing on the nationally accredited tour will give all juniors an opportunity to gain nationwide exposure through multiple ranking systems including the National Junior Golf Scoreboard, the AJGA, and the Golfweek/Titleist Performance Index. The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour has a golden reputation as one of the most prestigious golf tours because of superior competition, high quality venues, state of the art technologies, highly trained staff, and attentive customer service.
Derek and I look forward to our season and this outstanding partnership. As always we are “Looking Ahead”.
