Congratulations to all who made it to either the Northstar Golf Club or to OSU’s Scarlet and Gray Golf Courses for the state high school golf tournament!!
Even though the results may not have been as good as hoped for all the teams from the Northeast Ohio area, it is a wonderful achievement to go the tournament and have the opportunity to represent your school, your family, your community, and your self. The Southwest Junior Golf Tour, which was well represented by both current and former tour members, appreciates your efforts and understands the dedication that you have to your game and to the game of golf.
Specific shout-outs go to the Highland Girls Golf Team, led by current tour members Chloe McKinzie and Madison Butler, and the ladies of Magnificat for their 3rd place finish. On the boys side, the gentlemen of St. Ignatius and St. Edward, specifically current tour members Harrison Vonderau (St. Ignatius) and Danny Zahn (St. Edward), deserve high praise for being great ambassadors for the wonderful quality of golf that Northeast Ohio produces. Also, on the boys side, congratulation to the Holy Name High School Green Wave, as current tour member Rob Scholl became the first ever Namer to make it to the state tournament. Way to go!!
Good luck to all for the rest of the school year, whether it be academically or athletically. Work hard, stay focused, and remember that tour sign ups begin in only 132 more days!
