2013 event #8: ROSEMONT CC
First off, some wonderful patriotic displays today, especially from our female participants. Red, white, and blue was flying all over the golf course!!
We still have a few sleeves of golf balls left as we were not as strong, as a group, on our American History trivia. Poor John Glenn, very forgotten today. Maybe next year!
As for our qualifiers for the HJGT Fall event, they are B14-18 Danny Zahn (72), B12-13 Favian Busnawi (76), and G13-18 Madison butler (77). Great job! See you in October.
In the B16-18 age division there was a three way tie at 76 and Jared Toom won the scorecard playoff with a total of 26 on holes 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, and 18, besting Ryan Scherler (27) and Jason Hessel (28). Ryan is consoled by the fact that he aced hole #17. The tour’s second hole-in-one this season. Congratulations Ryan, Jared, and Jason. Good work today.
Danny Zahn cruised to victory with a two over par 72 (we played #2 as a par 3). Danny continues his wonderful play this season, as he is making a run at consecutive Player of Year titles!
Favian Busnawi fired a strong 76 to capture yet another victory. As impressive as his game is, what is more impressive is that he smiles and seems to enjoy playing the game as much as any body I have ever seen. I suppose we would all smile more if we could play as well as he does. Great work!!
Chloe McKinzie rejoined the tour and went right back to her winning ways by shooting a solid 81, securing her first place finish. Good to have you back and nice round today!
Madison Butler continues to impress in the G13-15 age division. A rock solid 77, included a lone birdie and a triple-bogey. I hate water too Madison. Great work today.
Additional notes about today, many witnessed wild kingdom between holes 13 and 16 as two hawks/falcons? some kind of birds of prey had a little picnic on the course…main course, squirrel. Also, we all need to say a few kinds words to Mother Nature for letting us play today with just a little rain as it poured everywhere around us. I have no idea how we did not get drenched. Thank you , thank you!! Finally, a real big THANK YOU to Mrs. Clark, Mrs. Santabarbara, and Mrs. Butler for ferrying players to #10 and back from #9. That was a nonstop effort for over an hour each time. I know are players truly appreciated your efforts today on their behalf’s.
Have a wonderful and safe 4th of July!!!
